Reservation

Explorer Car Rental offers you a wide choice of vehicles for car rental:

  • Economy car
  • Mid-sized car

Payment with Visa, MasterCard and CB cards linked to a bank account – with the exception of immediate debit cards with systematic authorization (such as Maestro, Electron, Indigo, Kyriel, Cyrus, etc.). AMEX

 

You will receive your booking confirmation by email, with a summary of your choices.

 

If you have not received your booking confirmation email, please contact your departure agency directly.

 

You can change your booking with the departure agency up to 72 hours before the scheduled pick-up date.
The agency will do its best to accommodate your request. New financial conditions will be offered to you and you will have the option to accept or decline them.
The change request must be notified to the departure agency.

Here are the reasons for additional charges:

Supplements, optional services, additional insurance and protection supplements (“options”).
Payment for the fuel used, according to the conditions appearing on the “fuel poster” available at the agency and payment for the “filling” service.
Repair of damages related to an accident.
Loss, disappearance or theft of the vehicle and/or the vehicle locking and starting/stopping systems.
The rental price is payable in advance in cash and is calculated in 24-hour increments. Rent A Car Rental: We accept a 60-minute delay in returning the vehicle. After this period, we will charge you an additional day of the rental price, as well as the costs corresponding to the “options” subscribed to, for each day started of delay.

For your comfort and safety, we can provide you with additional equipment such as:

Baby seat
Child seat/Booster seat
This equipment can be reserved directly online or in an agency on the day of departure (subject to availability).

You can add additional drivers, for a fee, per day and per additional driver, the terms of which are set out in the general information. The additional driver(s) must be indicated on the Rental Agreement when the vehicle leaves.

 

Rental conditions

All drivers must have a valid driving license written in the Cyrillic alphabet (depending on the desired vehicle category).

To rent a car, you must have a valid credit card in your name.

Vehicle removal

To collect the vehicle, the driver must present to the departure Agency:

An ID
The original of his driving license
A valid internet address
Proof of address
A credit card
In case of payment by “voucher” or prepaid reservation, an accepted means of payment.
Any additional driver must present to the Departure Agency an identity document (identity card or passport) and the original of their valid driving license.

To collect your vehicle, you must sign your rental contract and the “Vehicle Condition” form.

 

When taking possession of the vehicle, you will have to pay a security deposit (not collected at the start) using an approved means of payment. The Security Deposit is a condition of taking possession of the vehicle, to find out more.

 

The Rental Agreement, which includes the form called “Vehicle Condition”, indicates any visible damage to the vehicle, the number of kilometers traveled by the vehicle and the level of fuel supplied at the start of the rental. You complete the “Vehicle Condition” form at the start and when returning it.

Compare the number of kilometers and fuel level shown on the dashboard with the information on the Rental Agreement and/or on the “Vehicle Condition” sheet.
Check that a copy of the Vehicle registration document, the green insurance card and the accident report are in the Vehicle.

You agree to have the Rental Agreement and/or the “Vehicle Condition” sheet rectified by our staff in the event of an anomaly and/or discrepancies.

During the rental

When you rent a vehicle, you are offered mileage packages specific to your requests.

Fuel costs are your responsibility. You must return the vehicle with the same fuel level as indicated in the “Vehicle Condition” sheet.

In the event of a vehicle breakdown or an accident requiring repairs, contact our assistance service, whose telephone numbers are given in the folder in the vehicle, which contains, in particular, the registration documents and a copy of the Rental Agreement.

In the event of an accident, you must inform us immediately and submit a duly completed accident report signed by yourself and the third party concerned to the agency within 48 hours.
In the event of an accident while driving by a driver not indicated on the Rental Agreement, any additional insurance and additional protection that may have been taken out will not apply, and you must compensate us for all damages attributable to you.

In the event of theft of the vehicle, you must immediately report (except in cases of force majeure) the theft or attempted theft to the police authorities as soon as you become aware of it as well as to the agency and return to the identified personnel of said agency the locking and start/stop systems of the vehicle, the rental contract, the “traffic documents” and the receipt for filing the theft report above. This formality must be completed within 2 working days from the time you became aware of it (Article III 4.1 – Measures to be taken of the CGL).

Assurances/Franchise

By renting a Vehicle, the occupants of the vehicle (drivers and passengers) benefit from “third-party liability” insurance. Third-party liability insurance guarantees the financial consequences of bodily injury or material damage that the driver and passengers of the vehicle may cause to third parties while they are in the vehicle. It also covers bodily injury suffered only by the passengers of the vehicle.

The amounts of the various deductibles are displayed in the agency and available upon request from the agency. The conditions for the deductible buyback are available in participating agencies or on the website.

Return of the vehicle

We suggest that you jointly check the apparent condition of the vehicle with our staff upon return of the rental, and compare it to that indicated on the “Vehicle Condition” sheet. If the apparent condition of the vehicle upon return differs from that upon departure, we will invoice you for the damage noted (bodywork impacts, missing accessories, etc.) within the limit of the maximum financial liability applicable depending on any additional protection taken out.

 

You must return the vehicle, the vehicle’s locking and start/stop systems and its registration documents inside the departure agency (unless otherwise indicated in the rental contract) to an identified employee on the dates and times agreed in the rental contract, and in any case during the Agency’s opening hours.

You must inform us as soon as possible of any event preventing you from returning the vehicle on the agreed date and time, failing which this will constitute misappropriation (theft) liable to prosecution. If you wish to extend the rental beyond its initial duration, you must make a prior request in writing (by email with acknowledgement of receipt) to the agency at least 48 hours before the return day and time specified in the Rental Agreement.
